How to Buy Cryptocurrency in Cote d Ivoire
Buying cryptocurrency in Cote d Ivoire
As one of the members of the UEMOA, otherwise known as the eight-country West African Economic and Monetary Union, the central bank of Côte d'Ivoire is also the Central Bank of West African States or BCEAO. Some earlier reports claim that the BCEAO were engaged in launching the regional digital currency, called the eCFA. In April 2017, such statements were denied by the BCEAO, claiming that they're currently not considering the option of creating such a currency in any of its counterparts. The government of Côte d'Ivoire is yet to make any kind of statement or to express its opinion regarding cryptocurrencies and the subject of their legality. Therefore, the country's attitude toward cryptocurrencies remains quite vague. However, blockchain technology was used in a project involving agriculture, more particularly the cocoa sector, in order to create a solution to fight fraud and encourage ethical production in Côte d'Ivoire
